Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Information we collect
In short: we only collect what you type into our inquiry form — nothing else.
When you submit an inquiry through our website, we collect the fields you fill in: your name, email address, country, product category, estimated quantity, and your message. We do not collect payment details, ID documents, or any other personal data.
We do not use advertising trackers, cross-site cookies, or fingerprinting. Our interactive tools (currency converter, quizzes, calculators) run entirely in your browser — your inputs never leave your device.
2. How we use your information
In short: your details are used solely to reply to your inquiry — nothing more.
Inquiries are stored securely; you receive an instant automated sourcing brief on screen. We may occasionally email market updates — unsubscribe anytime.
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not send newsletters or promotional emails unless you explicitly ask us to.
3. Legal basis
In short: we process your data because you asked us to contact you (consent), and because answering buyer inquiries is our legitimate business purpose (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) & (f)).
By submitting the inquiry form, you consent to us contacting you about your sourcing request. You may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us (see §5), and we will stop processing and delete your data.
4. Data retention
In short: inquiries are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
We keep inquiry records for up to 24 months so we can follow up on longer buying cycles and improve our guides. After that period, records are deleted. If you ask us to delete your data earlier, we do so promptly (see §5).
5. Your rights
In short: email hello@cantonmarket.org to access, correct, or delete your data.
You have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete — ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object / restrict — ask us to stop or limit processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a common, machine-readable format.
We respond to rights requests within 30 days. If you believe we handled your data unfairly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
6. Third-party services & changes to this policy
In short: only our hosting and database providers touch your data — and only to run this site.
To operate this website we rely on a small number of infrastructure providers — currently Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database). They process data solely on our instructions to keep the site running and do not use it for their own purposes.
We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
